To get both MCE keyboard and MCE remote to work simultaneously:

ir-keytable -p mce_kbd -p rc-6

To make sure the BACK button stops the video instead of putting it in the background:

 Add-ons -> Install from Repository -> Kodi Add-on Repository -> Program add-ons -> Keymap Editor -> Install ->Keymap Editor -> Run -> Edit -> Fullscreen Video -> Playback -> Stop - browser_back -> Edit key ->Press the BACK button on your remote

Hit back until you see the SAVE option.
